About Me

Stephanie has been a student of yoga since 2004 after a doctor had suggested it to her following her physical therapy to help with her back pain. As challenging as it seemed at first, it became something that soon fascinated her and helped alleviate pain. This soon inspired her to learn more about the human body and how to heal injuries naturally, by living a healthy lifestyle. In while attending college at The University of Texas at San Antonio she studied kinesiology and pursued practicing yoga in her free time. She spent a lot of time studying anatomy and clinical exercise physiology and immersed herself in learning the background of physical therapy and athletic training. She wanted to find a way to bring it all together with her yoga practice. This new found passion for yoga inspired her to want to learn more about the discipline itself and share the knowledge with others. Stephanie then decided to become a teacher and started working towards her 200 hour teacher certification through YogaFit. This brought her on a journey to many places across the United States to practice and learn from some of the most amazing instructors who changed her life forever, such as Beth Shaw, Laura Anderson and Tim Miller. In this journey she discovered what her body and mind were capable of and soon began immersing herself in practicing the yogic philosophies and lifestyle. Stephanie's practice has brought her down many paths from hatha vinyasa flow, restorative, Ashtanga vinyasa, Bikram, Anusara, Kundalini, meditation and even pilates. She teaches strong self discipline of both the body and mind, while keeping a light open heart and having compassion for oneself to achieve a successful practice and discipline of the mind and body. Stephanie hopes to help others to discover themselves through the practice of yoga. She teaches a variety of classes in a vinyasa flow manner; specializing in power yoga and hot yoga; both to stimulate the nervous system and help detox the body. In conjunction to the vigorous practices she also implements classes to wind down and help others become more mindful in their practice by teaching restorative yin yoga and slow flow classes to help to heal from injuries and such. Stephanie is currently pursuing her 500 hour teacher certification through YogaFit and continues to study the Ashtanga primary series as well as self study in Patanjali's Yoga Sutras and learning about the practice of Kundalini yoga.

Stephanie is also a licensed massage therapist. She felt that there was a connection with massage therapy and the bodywork that she did in yoga and wanted to find a way to bring it all together. In 2010, she attended The Cortiva Institute in Florida to study massage therapy. She completed a rigorous 750 hour program and became certified in swedish relaxation, neuromuscular therapy & myofascial release therapy. She also has been trained in hot stone, sports massage, pregnancy and special populations. In her free time she studies Thai Yoga massage as a way to implement her knowledge of yoga into her massage practice. She hopes to continue on this path and learn more healing modalities to help others reach their fullest potential. Stephanie is a professional member of the American Massage Therapy Association.
